This year’s walk carried even deeper meaning, as it was inspired by one of our own teammates recently diagnosed with the condition.
ALS is a progressive disease that affects the motor neurons - the nerves that control our muscles - gradually making everyday actions like walking, speaking and even breathing more difficult. Research and support are making a difference – and every little bit helps.
Huge thanks to our colleague, Chloe Kamsteeg for organising such a brilliant event. As Chloe shared:
“The event was truly special, especially when our colleague with ALS and his family joined us for the final 5km. Their presence was inspiring and added a heartfelt touch to the walk. Together, we managed to raise over €3,000, making the event not only enjoyable but also impactful in the fight against ALS.”
The walk was supported by a donation from BMT’s Charity Committee, and it’s already inspired the team to start thinking about other activities to raise money for causes that are close to the hearts of the local team.
We’re so proud of everyone who took part, donated, or cheered from afar. It was a powerful reminder of what we can do when we come together - especially for one of our own.

Well done, team.
