Panagiotis Kasionis

Maritime Consultant

Panagiotis (Panos) is a maritime professional with a strong seagoing and technical background. He graduated as a Deck Officer from the Merchant Marine Academy of Macedonia in Greece in 2016 and obtained his Captain Class C certificate in 2018.

He built extensive hands-on experience at sea, serving on a wide variety of vessels, including bulk carriers, tankers, fishing vessels, and passenger ships. During his seagoing career, he worked as Captain on certain vessel types and gained a broad and well-rounded understanding of maritime operations.

Committed to continuous professional development, Panos obtained an Advanced Diploma in Marine Surveying in 2021.

Following his transition ashore in the same year, he joined the internationally renowned classification society Bureau Veritas in Greece, where he further developed his expertise in inspection and surveying.

In 2023 he enhanced his qualifications with an Advanced Professional Diploma in Flag State Inspections & Classification Surveys and obtained a Certificate of Professional Competence as Class Surveyor.

Panos joined BMT in 2023 where he continues to build on his expertise in marine surveying and incident investigation, using his seagoing experience and surveying background.
