BMT was commissioned by a shipyard owner to conduct third-party risk assessment and loss prevention studies for the conversion of a VLCC into a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) unit, as part of the Banyu Urip Field Development Project in Central and Eastern Java, Indonesia.
The Project will develop landlocked oil fields in Cepu and transport crude oil via onshore and offshore pipeline to the FSO.
Studies undertaken by BMT include: risk assessment and management plan, HAZID and HAZOP studies, SIL Classification & Verification Studies, Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Assessment (EERA) and Implementation Plan, Fire and Explosion Analysis (FEA), Temporary Refuge Impairment Analysis (TRIA), Electrically Classified Area Compliance Review and risk assessments for FSO construction & fabrication, transportation & installation, facility systems completion, hook-up/commissioning and loss prevention surveys.
We prepared a business plan for the new offshore multi-user port development in Abu Dhabi, involving staged construction of facilities from initial operations in 2010 to full development by 2028.
We were commissioned to build a financial and business development plan for a Chinese Logistics Park.
We carried out comprehensive oceanographic modelling to develop the design conditions at various mooring sites in Dampier port and Mermaid Sound.
We assisted in the development of offshore oil facilities on Pulau Busing Island, off Singapore's busy south coast. The work was motivated by the increasing costs of oil, and our team was in place to assess a total engineering design and project management consultancy for four new jetties.
