In October this year, we announced an important new teaming agreement with South Australian company Nautic Star, a leading manufacturer of high-quality custom boats, to offer the Next Generation M80 Interceptor Sea Boat to the Government of Australia.
It was one of the major announcements made at the 2019 Pacific International Maritime Exhibition in Sydney. The South Australian Premier, The Hon Steven Marshall, was present for the occasion.
Designed for use in the most extreme conditions, The M80 Interceptor Sea Boat is a sovereign navy interceptor capability that has been fine-tuned over many years to deliver a perfect balance of soft riding and rough water performance in any direction and equally impressive calm water performance.
At just over seven metres, this high-performance vessel is suitable for a number of maritime requirements including use as Armidale Class Patrol Boats for the Royal Australian Navy.
Our Defence and Security Managing Director Peter Behrendt expressed his excitement to team up with a great South Australian company and said it proved local firms can offer world leading capability for Australia’s defence and national security requirements. The announcement shows our deep commitment to developing Australia’s defence and national security capability, as well as its export capacity.
