Program Director, Climate and Environment
Jaret Fattori is a Professional Engineer registered with Professional Engineers Ontario with expertise in infrastructure restoration, carbon reduction and climate change resilience. He is based out of our office in Ottawa, Canada, and leads the development of BMT’s climate and environmental capabilities in North America.
Jaret’s academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Western University, London, ON, and a Master of Engineering in Sustainability Engineering from Queen’s University, Kingston, ON. He possesses over 7-years of professional history which includes leading many impressive cross-disciplinary projects evaluating climate risk, opportunity, and strategy across Canada.
Fattori uses his background in environmental and civil engineering, as well as his expertise in climate change science, to advise clients on climate resiliency, carbon emission reduction, and sustainability. His technical background and analysis help clients assess climate change risk for existing and new infrastructure projects. He is experienced in presenting technical concepts to a variety of audiences and coordinating the efforts of multi-disciplinary teams to provide robust climate risk analysis.

Director, Maritime Simulation, Training and Surveys
Since joining BMT in 1992, Dr Phil Thompson has held various managerial and executive appointments within BMT’s global management consultancy. He currently leads the Simulation and Training Services business at BMT.
His extensive work in e-Navigation, Traffic Simulation, Digital Twinning and Digital Reconstruction Forensics has led to the world’s leading ship operators and statutory marine accident investigation bodies to adopt BMT navigation simulators for port planning and navigation training. Users include Shell, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board and counterparts in the U.K., Australia and the Netherlands. Phil is also currently leading a number of joint industry developments in Autonomous Surface Vessels, Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and Machine Vision Capabilities and the impacts on Future Port Design.
Phil has held several Directorships with the Transport, Offshore and Marine Surveys divisions at BMT. Prior to joining BMT, he worked in underwater acoustics at BAE Systems and as a Professor at the Department of Aerospace and Ocean Engineering at Virginia Tech, U.S.A.
He has received a Civil and Structural Engineering doctorate from Newcastle University and an MBA from Durham University. Phil is registered as a Chartered Director with the UK’s Institute of Directors.

Phillip White joined BMT as Business Development Manager and brings with him a wealth of experience in business development, software and technical sales, and environmental consulting across multiple industries.
His most recent position was as Business Development and Account Management for the world’s leading GIS software company and prior to that he was an executive for an Enhanced Reality software company creating Digital Twins and training simulators for refineries and chemical plants.
Phillip has an educational background in Geophysics and Philosophy, is a professional musician in his spare time, and looks to the real stars as an amateur astronomer.
